This Week's Learning (1st - 5th March 2021)

Welcome to the YF Home Learning Page
1st- 5th March 2021

Hello Foundation Class

Firstly, may we thank you for all the hard work and support you have given your children during the last two months.  We are very much looking forward to welcoming the class back on the 8th.

From Monday 8th March: YF will start school at 9.00am and will finish at 3.25pm.  Our PE days will be Wednesday and Friday.

On this page you will find all the information and links you need if you are learning at home this week.

Live lessons
Mrs Harvey's live lesson will be on Monday 1st March at 2.30pm
Mrs Marley's live lesson will be on Friday 5th March at 2.30pm

Tapestry
We love seeing pictures of any of your home learning on Tapestry, however, in keeping with the rest of the school, we ask that you try to upload at least the following 2 pieces of work for us to comment on:
Wednesday 3rd March - you are invited to type a sentence on Tapestry yourself to let us know what you got to with your own 'not a box' yesterday.
Friday 5th March - pictures of your chosen maths activity

Please remember that the learning plan and videos are there to guide you through the week.  Please do not feel that you have to stick rigidly to the plan, or that you have to complete every suggested activity.  If you have any questions, we are here to help, please do not hesitate to contact us via the school office.

Kind regards
Catherine & Lisa

Apologies today's welcome video is not working due to technical issues.  It does affect literacy or numeracy.

Afternoon/Extended Learning

Please find below links to ideas for afternoon and/or extended learning.
Castles
Enjoy learning about castles, knights and coats of arms.  Look at the four castles that the houses are named after at school.  Perhaps you could make your own castles with some of the features you've learnt about.  You could build one, junk model one or draw one.  There are lots of ideas here, so you can pick from the selection.

Art
See the St David's Day video art lesson on daffodils under 'Monday'.
Science
Enjoy these investigations into light.
PE

We recognise that lots of families want to move away from screen-based physical activity and have included the document below which gives suggestions for PE activities that can be done without needed to follow on-screen instructions or videos.  We hope you find this useful.
PSHE
Enjoy talking about sharing when you read this story.  What are you looking forward to sharing when we get back into school next week?  What games do you like to share?  What toys do you like to share?  How do we feel when people don't share?  How have you shared and cared for people this week at home/school?
Apologies for the tech problem with Tuesday's welcome video.  I have put Tuesday's video on for today as i'm having tech problems with Wednesday's.  It may take a little while for it to be processed and published on Stream but hopefully it won't take long.  I though i'd be good at this by now, although I think this time it's the computer/internet not me!  Catherine
