Welcome to YF 2021

We are so excited to welcome our new children to Kea School and getting to know them, parents and carers.

This is the first year of primary school where children are able to learn and play in a lovely indoor and outdoor setting, exploring, investigating, and making links in a motivating and flexible environment, where teachers and support staff assess through ongoing observations.

We look forward to sharing the children's learning and experiences with you as the year progresses.

Autumn 1: Our First Few Weeks...

We have all settled into Kea School life really well and have already had so many exciting and new experiences.

We have spent lots of time getting to know our school grounds, doing lots of outdoor learning and exploring in the orchard and in our YF garden area.  We have particularly enjoyed using the mud kitchens.  We have learnt all about ourselves and feelings, painted our portraits and explored primary colours and have enjoyed PE, dance and Yoga.  We have even started to learn our Read Write Inc sounds.

We are becoming more independent, trying to do things for ourselves, such as organising our things first thing in the morning, zipping up our coats and looking after the classroom toys.  We are making lots of new friends and finding out about each other through our learning, play and circle times.

Here are some photos to show what we have got up to so far…

Life in Foundation...
Enjoy looking at some of the learning that children have enjoyed at Kea School..
Our Current Book Recommendation...
We are reading 'The Little Red Hen' story over the next few weeks.  The story of The Little Red Hen is a classic tale with an important moral. It tells the tale of a hardworking red hen and some lazy farm animals. Through these animals, the story teaches lessons about working hard, helping others, staying active, and the importance of earning.
