This Week's Homework

Homework for half term

Set on Friday 23rd October

Due by Remember Remember the 5th of November

HISTORY/LITERACY (The Gunpowder Plot)

Over half term I am not setting any formal homework but, if you are able to, I would like you to find out about the original gunpowder plot and bring your research into school to share with the class. You could record your research into your homework book, make a poster or make something a like a PowerPoint if you prefer. If you have a digital presentation then please email it to me via the school office. On Thursday 5th November we will share these with the rest of the class.

Have a lovely, restful half term.

SPELLINGS ‘words from this half term'

On Monday we will have a short test on words with the spelling patterns from this half term.

TIMESTABLES

  1. Get some practice in on Times Tables Rock Stars. Garage will give you a focus on your tables based on how you're getting on with them, moving you on as you show that you can do one quickly. Studio questions can be anything up to 12x12 and will give you your rock status. (Once you have played 10 games, Studio calculates your mean time and uses that for your rock status.)
  2. Write out  in your homework book a timestable which you would like to be better at and then use Daily 10 to practice it.

SPELLING LISTS YEAR 4 –AUTUMN 2020

Each week we will focus on a new spelling rule (in Kea School we use the Nelson English Spelling scheme). Below are the rules that we will cover each week this half term and a sample of the words which the children will encounter. Our emphasis is on  the understanding of spelling rules and being able to apply the rule to any words, including words that are not on the list. We will focus on each spelling rule for a week and have a small test on the Monday of the following week to apply the rule we have learnt.

The pdf below has our current spellings ...
